The decree issued by the Council of Ministers No. (174) dated 27/2/1445 AH aims to regulate the General Authority for Media Regulation in order to regulate the media sector in the Kingdom and its various activities, media broadcasting activities, monitoring and developing its performance, encouraging investment in it, setting controls on media content, and regulating the employment within the media field.
The executive regulations interpret the Visual and Audible Media Law in a manner that enhances the media sector and creates an investment-friendly environment, ensuring clear guidelines for institutions, individuals working in this field, as well as beneficiaries of media services, through its articles, licensing guide, and the attached schedule of violations.
The aim of the law is to regulate and develop the visual and audible media activities within the Kingdom, create a suitable investment environment for it, and ensure that its content is consistent with the Kingdom's media policy. The Media Law was issued by the Council of Ministers Decree No. 170 on 24/3/1439 AH and approved by Royal Decree No. M/33 on 25/3/1439 AH.
