The General Authority for Media Regulation announced achieving outstanding figures during the Hajj season of 1445 AH, affirming its vital role in supporting media coverage of the Hajj rituals and providing it at the highest standards of quality.
The Authority revealed that the total customs clearance for international delegations amounted to 2,137 devices for delegations from 35 countries. The total number of permits for satellite uplink vehicles and TV and radio studio vans was 9 requests, with a total of 12 uplink vehicles and TV and radio studios. Additionally, there were 119 devices specifically for these vehicles, with a total of 4,004 devices cleared for local and international delegations, exceeding the target and achieving an over 100% completion rate compared to the previous year.
The total number of live broadcast devices cleared for local and international delegations was 22, with a total of 690 hours of uplink vehicle broadcasting. The total booking hours for satellite capacity and support center connections at this year's Hajj Media Forum amounted to 21 hours, bringing the total live TV broadcast hours to 711.
In terms of radio, the total number of radio stations monitored in Mecca and the holy sites was 22, broadcasting programs in 12 languages. The number of official broadcast signals for uplink via satellites using ArabSat systems was 10 signals.
On this occasion, Dr. Abdulatif bin Mohammed Al-Abdulatif, CEO of the General Authority for Media Regulation, extended his gratitude to His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for their support and empowerment of the media sector in the Kingdom, which has enabled it to cover a significant global event like the Hajj.
The CEO emphasized that these efforts are part of the Ministry of Media's commitment under the leadership of His Excellency the Minister of Media and Chairman of the General Authority for Media Regulation, Mr. Salman bin Yusuf Al-Dosari. The Authority is dedicated to supporting the media coverage of the Hajj rituals with professionalism and excellence to ensure organized coverage that meets the highest quality standards and reflects its new strategy to lead the media sector in the Kingdom toward regional and international leadership with the efficiency of its national workforce. He added, 'We are committed to providing the best media services to ensure a clear and comprehensive picture of what is happening in the Holy Mosque and the holy sites reaches the entire world.
