The General Authority for Media Regulation will participate in the "Copyright Forum," organized by the King Fahd National Library, on June 5th and 6th, 2024.
During its participation, the Authority will showcase its key initiatives and efforts in regulating and governing the publishing sector, including the main criteria it uses for book and publication approvals.
The Authority considers this participation an important opportunity to meet with a large number of stakeholders in the publishing sector, including authors, researchers, and publishing houses. They will be informed about the approved procedures for book approvals and the ease of completing these procedures through the Authority's electronic platform, while considering the specified time frame for receiving responses after review by specialized committees, and recording the observations that form the basis of their opinions.
The Authority's significant focus on the printing and publishing sector and protecting intellectual property rights stems from its role in book and publication approvals, as well as regulating the work of both electronic and print publishers. The Authority has approved over 2,000 books during the first quarter of this year.
