The management is responsible for reviewing violations of the provisions of the Audiovisual Media Law and its executive regulations according to Article 18 of the law, and imposing fines stipulated in the violations schedule annexed to the executive regulations of the law on the violators.

The Primary Committees are responsible for the following:

Firstly:

• - Reviewing violations of the provisions of the Press and Publication System and its executive regulations and applying the penalties specified therein according to the provisions of Article Thirty-Eight of the system.
• - Reviewing the violation of a Saudi individual (outside the Kingdom) who commits any of the prohibitions stipulated in Article Nine of the Press and Publication System, and imposing an appropriate penalty from the penalties specified in Article Thirty-Eight of the Press and Publication System or taking the prescribed actions.

Secondly:

• - Reviewing violations of the provisions of the Media System and its executive regulations and applying the penalties specified therein according to the provisions of Article Nineteen of the system.
• - Reviewing the violation of a Saudi individual (outside the Kingdom) who commits any violations of the provisions of the Media System and imposing an appropriate penalty from the penalties specified in Article Seventeen of the Media System.
• - Reviewing the appeals submitted by concerned parties regarding the decisions issued by the mentioned authority in paragraph (1) of Article Eighteen of the Media System.

The Primary Committee may include the decision issued with the penalty to be published after it has obtained finality at the expense of the violator in three local newspapers, one of which is issued at least in his place of residence. If there is no newspaper in the area where he resides, then in a newspaper issued in the nearest area.

The Appeals Committee is responsible for the following:

Firstly:

• Reviewing appeals submitted by concerned parties on the decisions of the Primary Committees mentioned in Article Thirty-Seven of the Press and Publication System.

Secondly:

• - Considering the appeals submitted by concerned parties against the decisions of the primary committee referred to in Article 19 of the Audiovisual Media Law.
• - Reviewing the actions taken by the authority regarding the suspension of broadcasting or the precautionary suspension of licenses according to paragraph (2) of Article 18 of the Audiovisual Media Law.
