Yesterday, Mohammad Al-Aqeel, a member of the Alzheimer's Association and the Legal Sponsor of the Saudi Alzheimer's Disease Association, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Acting Chairman of the General Authority for Audio-Visual Media, Reda bin Mohammad Al-Haidar, with the aim of enhancing the association's activities in the community.

The memorandum stipulates the Authority's media support for the 'Mazawela City 4' project organized by the association, which is a volunteer initiative aimed at promoting the voluntary message and raising awareness about Alzheimer's disease and its symptoms. It also includes support for other association programs and participation of its representatives in the association's volunteer programs.

Her Highness Princess Modawaa bint Mohammad bin Abdullah bin Abdulrahman, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Executive Committee, emphasized the importance of this cooperation, which serves the noble goals of the association. These goals include educating and raising awareness among various community segments about Alzheimer's disease through all media channels and with community stakeholders and decision-makers, including the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, the Ministry of Health, as well as strategic partners of the association and all possible communications. The aim is to support and assist patients and improve health and living services.

Her Highness also noted that this memorandum aligns with the National Transformation Plan 2020 and is consistent with Vision 2030, which aims to increase the number of volunteers in the non-profit sector to 300,000 by 2020. She highlighted that the association is seeking to sign similar memoranda with several entities to further spotlight the association's work in a way that positively impacts expanding the volunteer base in its activities across all segments in the Kingdom and enhancing community contributions to support Alzheimer's patients.

On his part, Acting Chairman of the General Authority for Audio-Visual Media, Reda bin Mohammad Al-Haidar, stated that this cooperation is driven by social responsibility. The Authority is keen on participating in community development by leveraging its resources to support the Saudi Alzheimer's Disease Association through promoting its efforts on various media platforms.

Al-Haidar noted that the Authority will strive to help convey the association’s message to all members of the community and spread its charitable goals in order to elevate awareness of Alzheimer's disease and activate media coverage of its various charitable and volunteer activities throughout the year.
