His Excellency the Minister of Media and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Commission for Audiovisual Media, Dr. Awwad bin Saleh Al-Awwad, today handed over the fourth cinema operating license to Lux Entertainment in partnership with Al Hokair Group for Tourism and Development, Cinépolis Global, and Al Tayer Group. These alliances aim to establish 300 screens in various locations across 15 cities and governorates within five years. The Board of Directors of the General Commission for Audiovisual Media approved on December 11, 2017, the issuance of licenses for those interested in opening cinemas to support the cinema sector, stimulate economic growth and diversification, and create job opportunities in new fields, in line with the Kingdom’s ambitious Vision 2030.
