During its annual meeting for 2024, held at the headquarters of the General Commission for Audiovisual Media today, the Advertising Industry Council announced the adoption of the "TAM Saudi Arabia" project as the national standard for measuring media content viewership in the Kingdom.
The project provides accurate and reliable data in accordance with the highest global industry standards, supporting the media sector in Saudi Arabia by directing it toward optimal opportunities in content creation, aligning with the goals of Vision 2030.
Dr. Abdulatif Alabdullatif, CEO of the General Commission for Audiovisual Media and Chairman of the Advertising Industry Council, emphasized that the "TAM Saudi Arabia" project is part of the Commission's commitment to developing the media infrastructure in the Kingdom. It also aims to enhance transparency in the media sector by providing accurate data to stakeholders, including advertising agencies, broadcasters, and digital publishers, regarding media content viewership rates. This, in turn, enables them to make informed decisions based on clear, scientific data.
On his part, Engineer Bandar Al-Mashhadi, CEO of Media Rating Company (MRC), explained that the adoption of "TAM Saudi Arabia" as the official standard for measuring media content viewership will mark a significant shift in the media industry in the Kingdom. He noted that the accurate data provided by the program will enhance the ability of content creators to refine their strategies and offer content that meets audience expectations.
It is worth mentioning that the General Commission for Audiovisual Media heads the Advertising Industry Council, which includes representatives from 11 private sector entities involved in the advertising and media fields. The Council provides insights and recommendations to support the strategies for localizing the advertising industry in the Kingdom and developing media content production.
